Implement building envelope efficiency measures targeting insulation, window treatments, leaks, and any other environmental concerns. Walls- Additional insulation should be added to exterior walls when possible to minimize heat gain from the outdoor environment.- Add caulking or weather-stripping sealants to areas of infiltration (for example, in cracks or gaps of the exterior wall) to ensure no unnecessary outside heat can enter the premises. Windows- Replace current blinds/inefficient curtains with reflective window shades to minimize heat gain through windows. Window Treatments- Replace old window frames with non-metal insulating window frames to reduce heat entry.- Replace single-pane glass with double- or triple-pane insulated glass.- Use tinted glass/coatings where possible. Exterior Doors- Install revolving doors instead of standard swinging doors to reduce heat infiltration and A/C losses from the building. Leaks- Ensure there are no leaks from faulty weather stripping or installation. Fix leaks immediately. Roofs- Apply reflective materials (such as white stone or light-colored reflective coating) to the roof areas.
